Utah. They call it the state where "life becomes elevated." But with five breathtaking national parks, this one-week adventure is sure to create an experience where "life becomes a photographic oasis." So whether we're at Delicate Arch, Utah's scenic red rock icon, or the awe-inspiring rock formations of Capitol Reef, we're sure to discover splashes of natural color making for a remarkable and unforgettable experience.

The trip will start in Moab where we will see Canyonlands and Arches National Monument. Along the way we'll also see a dinosaur track and wonderful Indian rock art. From there we move on to Monument Valley, where we'll see incredible rock formations and gorgeous sunsets. Driving through Glen Canyon, we'll progress forward to Utah's famous park – Capital Reef. Here we'll discover even more rock formations, twisted canyons and natural geological wonders. We'll culminate our journey by driving Route 12, one of the nation's national scenic by-ways.

Steve Cohen has photographed in Utah many times and knows unusual places to shoot. This will be an opportunity to explore the unbeaten path and photograph secret, hidden places. Each day will be divided between traveling, shooting, critiques, private consultations, and (optional) lectures on various topics. For those photographers shooting with digital cameras, we'll edit along the way. For those shooting film, we will get it processed as we can. Be prepared to do a lot of shooting! The results of this workshop will be exhibited at the Julia Dean Gallery with an opening reception.
